Measuring Risk Preferences
We developed and validated the General Risk Propensity Scale (GRiPS), which is a short measure of a person's general risk tendencies. Our measure is validated across multiple samples and is predictive of a wide range of outcomes such as safety compliance, creativity, and constructive deviance. It has been translated into multiple languages and is used in research and industry settings.
Untraditional Interview Tactics
We examined various unorthodox interview questions and the impact on employee recruitment. Our findings suggest that "oddball" interview questions do not meaningfully assess work-readiness of potential candidates and that its implementation in the pre-employment selection process should be carefully considered.
Validity Communication
We developed several tools to communicate statistical evidence to practitioners. Our tools aim to present validity evidence in a way that is accessible to non-experts (e.g., C-Suite). We also examined various narrative tactics to present research effectively.
